There are many career pathway options to explore at McBrides. We welcome talented and experienced professionals who have trained elsewhere as well as ‘growing our own’ accountants and tax advisers from scratch. We are pretty good at spotting and developing talent - three of our partners started with us as graduate trainees, as did many of our managers.
We have been an approved training firm since 1980 and work actively to support staff in achieving their chosen professional accountancy qualifications for example: Chartered Accountants (ACA), Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), Accounting Technician (AAT), Association of Tax Technicians (ATT), and Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA).

We take on a range of trainees, from school leavers to graduates. For us, the question is whether you will thrive in our environment. We will consider your application, possibly invite you to interview – and then take it from there.
University Graduates – we would normally ask for a 2.1 degree plus 240 UCAS points at A level.
School Leavers – we would require a minimum 5 GCSE @ grades A* to C, plus 2 good A levels if you are hoping to train for AAT.
Training contracts typically run for 3 to 4 years depending on the qualification that you hope to attain.
You will gain practical experience over a wide variety of our client work, which you will find relevant to your studies and you will receive assistance towards your studies in the form of the payment of exam fees, study courses and study leave in addition to your annual leave.
You will be assigned a mentor who will provide you with day to day feedback on your progress. Formal appraisals are carried out bi-annually.
