If you are looking to realise the maximum value of your business, we can provide an exit planning process to see how ready you are for exit. This is twofold:
- Exit readiness – to encompass the development of your business strengths, to maximise the fruits of your efforts and achieve maximum value.
- Transaction readiness – to ensure the company’s systems and documentation are robust enough to minimise the risk of a transaction not reaching a conclusion. This compliance based approach will include health checks (statutory, PAYE, VAT) and in conjunction with a firm of solicitors, a walk-through of typical warranties and indemnities, a run through of the legal documentation encountered during the transaction process and generally getting you attuned to what you will face as a vendor.
We can also arrange meetings with clients who have already sold their own business and who are more than willing to impart their practical knowledge gained from their own exit.
After evaluating the options and a timeframe for exit, we can research likely acquirers and their requirements. We can give you up-to-date information on what is happening in the world of corporate finance and in your sector in particular and the current deals that are being undertaken. We will develop with you a strategy to make the business more attractive to the widest range of potential purchasers. This may include some restructuring of shareholdings, scrutiny of the balance sheet, and thorough financial grooming. In addition, working with trusted partners we will often develop or mentor second tier management and/or raise funds for expansion prior to sale.
