FAQs

Q: do I need to be a client of McBrides to join FaB?
A: You do not need to be a client of McBrides, however you should be familiar with the fundamental financial aspects of running a business either as a Finance Director/CFO, CEO, or fellow professional (legal, accounting, banking or finance). Simply provide us with your contact details to register as a member.

Q: what is the format of the meeting?
A: We meet at 8am for breakfast (tea/coffee/bacon butties, and vegetarian option); then at 8:30am we hear the first of two 20 minute briefings, one from our Tax Partner Terry Baldwin, and another on a topical issue of the day from one of our other experts, or a guest speaker. We finish with an informal Q&A session closing at 9:30am.

Q: which topics do you cover?
A: Each quarter we trawl through the various announcements, news alerts and fine print covering business, employment, accounting and tax – and pull out the things we think you should know about. We send an agenda out to members one week before the meeting, provide an overview at the meeting, and will happily supply more detail if you want it afterwards. On top of that, we invite a guest speaker along to cover other topics like employee incentivisation, corporate finance, business succession and the like.

A: In January, April, July and October each year.
