From apprentice to partner...
Article posted: 21st May 2019
We’re sure you will join us in congratulating Masum Ahmed on his appointment as tax partner here at McBrides.
You may know that Masum previously trained with us 19 years ago and rejoined as director in April last year (MBA April 2018). His experience in providing UK tax planning and compliance services has been very well received by our clients.
Our managing partner Nick Paterno said: “Masum’s arrival last year marked the wider expansion of our tax advisory services and his promotion to partner is the natural next step. He will continue to oversee our provision of high-level personal income, inheritance and capital gains tax planning advice.
“Over the last 12 months, Masum has invested time developing our private client tax services to include more detailed work with inheritance tax planning, as well as boosting awareness of our services which can help to reduce individuals’ tax liabilities.”
Since joining us, Masum has become vice chair of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Kent branch.
Very recently he appeared on BBC Radio Kent’s Paul Obey show in which he discussed the Child Benefit ‘tax trap’, let property changes and inheritance tax issues. You can catch up on the show until the end of May at www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0761sdz.
