Just ten days left for the paper tenner
Article posted: 19th February 2018
The paper Charles Darwin £10 note ceases to be legal tender after 1 March 2018 with the polymer Jane Austen £10 note replacing it.
After this time, most banks will exchange the old notes if you hold an account with them.
Interestingly, banknotes retain their value for all time and if in future you find some in money boxes or stashed under a mattress, you can exchange them in person or by post at the Bank of England. Details of how to do this can be found at: www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/Pages/about/exchanges.aspx.
